| Here is what we are doing:
We have calculated the amount of carbon we put in the atmosphere as a result of our energy consumption, including office use of heat, A/C, and general electricity; our employee business travel; and our employee commuting travel. We are offsetting our carbon production by investing in wind projects in Minnesota and the Midwest.
We didn’t stop there. In 2007 for each catalog we distribute we are planting a tree in Central America to support community-based projects for reforestation and sustainable agriculture.
For 2008 we will plant a tree for each order over $100.
As we use up our stock of office paper and envelopes, we are converting to recycled paper products.
When we print new promotional material, whenever possible we are insisting on recycled paper and vegetable-based ink.
We have expanded our line of green products, including more recycled paper, more green cleaning products, and more earth-friendly general office products.
